Ancient anatomy

The Alte Anatomie is a historic building in the city of Heidelberg . It was built at the time for use by the University of Heidelberg and is located behind the Friedrichsbau .

history

The old anatomy was established between 1847 and 1849. The architect of the building was Heinrich Hübsch . It was used for scientific purposes by the University of Heidelberg - so anatomy and zoology were located here. The Psychological Institute with the departments General Psychology and Clinical Psychology has been housed there since 1978. The institute's classrooms are also located there.

The old anatomy consists of two floors and a wide central projection . Two wings add more space to the building. The three flat segmental arches above the arcade openings are the most striking architectural feature.
