Old brickworks (Wiesbaden)
The old brickworks in the north of Wiesbaden-Bierstadt is a decaying industrial ruin consisting of several buildings. The company Nath and Oeder produced bricks there until the 1950s .
It is one of the former 26 brickworks in Wiesbaden; only three of them are (partially) preserved. The heart of the plant is a Hoffmann ring furnace . The Hessian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments has classified the stove and chimney as a cultural monument in terms of industrial and urban history.
The city of Wiesbaden as the owner was often criticized for the poor condition of the building complex. In 2015 she negotiated a sale to an investor; the result of the negotiations was not published.
