Age value (forest)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Age value is the real value (cf. also income value ) of a forest , expressed in units of value per unit area (e.g. euros per hectare).

The age value is derived by discounting all future profits from logging up to the final use of the current tree population or the forest on the valuation date, taking into account the cultural costs incurred. The prices and costs applicable on the valuation date are used as the basis for calculating future profits . The discounting is done with the forest interest rate . The amount of the age value depends on the prices, costs, the mass production of the various tree species, their quality and variety composition (site quality) as well as the assumed rotation time . Since the derivation is very complex , age value factors are used. These are determined and published in the Federal Republic of Germany by the forest administration and financial administration. The calculation is carried out using the Blume formula .
