Old Town Hall (Königstein im Taunus)
The old town hall is a listed building in Königstein im Taunus . It served as the town hall until 1909 and is now home to the Königstein Castle and Town Museum.

The building was originally erected around 1255 as the lower castle gate of Königstein Castle. On July 22, 1655, the city received the building free of charge from the sovereign, Archbishop of Mainz, Johann Philipp von Schönborn . The destruction of the Thirty Years War had the house come down so that only the massive substructure could be used. The current building was erected in half-timbered construction on this basement . It was completed in 1673 and was used as the town hall until 1909. The house forms the decorative end of the main street in Königstein. This meets in front of the town hall with Neugasse, Gerbereigasse and rear Schlossgasse and expands to a small square. The town hall forms the head end of the square. The town hall is also the gateway to Kugelherrnstraße and therefore has the address Kugelherrnstraße 1.
museum
The Königstein Castle and City Museum has been housed in the old town hall since 1968. The museum deals with the historical development of the region and the city of Königstein. Finds, models, drawings, pictures, tools, coins and everyday objects from many centuries up to the present are on display. A model made by Karl Söhngen in 1909/10 shows the Königstein Fortress on a scale of 1: 100 in the undamaged condition from 1790.
