The old town hall in Stuttgart 's Weilimdorf district is the former seat of the town's municipal administration. The building that characterizes the townscape in the historic town center at the confluence of Ditzinger Straße and Glemsgaustraße (previously: Korntaler Straße) is a cultural monument according to § 2 DSchG BW.

history

A town hall is first mentioned in Weilimdorf in 1551. The current building directly below the Oswald Church was built in 1605 after the community had moved the cemetery to the outskirts a few years earlier. In 1864 and 1909 it was completely renovated. At the end of the 19th century, two holding cells were installed in the attic. After Weilimdorf's merger with the neighboring town of Feuerbach (1929), the town hall was connected to the schoolhouse immediately behind it. Since the city of Feuerbach was incorporated into Stuttgart, it only served as a district town hall. With the inauguration of the new district town hall on Löwenmarkt (1984), its use as an administration building ended. The originally intended sale did not take place. The Evangelical Society moved in as a new user.

In 2019, the municipal council decided to renovate it again. The premises will then - like the nearby old rectory - be used by associations and for community work.
