Old Schützenhaus (Schwäbisch Hall)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The old rifle house was opened on September 19, 1828 in Schwäbisch Hall .

building

The building is located in Schwäbisch Hall's city park, Ackeranlagen 6. The old rifle house from 1828 is still recognizable despite all the structural changes: On the south side facing the garden, the center of the house was open during the Biedermeier period, where the shooting ranges were located. In the two bricked tower stumps opposite, the "pointer towers", the helpers could hide themselves bulletproof to indicate the hits for the shooters.

use

The Haller Schützen-Companie used it as a rifle house from 1828.

Around 1900 it was the city gardener's apartment.

Since the city of Schwäbisch Hall had been promoting its spa operation since the 1920s, the building was leased by the city as a restaurant on June 27, 1936. The “plant café” was opened with a concert. The first tenant was the confectioner E. Bott.

In 1966, the city of Schwäbisch Hall made the building available to the newly founded Club Alpha 60 as a club residence. He had to move out there in the course of preparations for the 1982 State Garden Show at the turn of the year 1980/81.

Today it houses a café with a beer garden, where concerts and festivals take place.
