history

The late Gothic building was first mentioned in a document in 1342 . The previous building was a Roman Asklepios temple. Reichenhall monk lords of San Zeno set up a monastery hostel here in an existing building. In 1526 this inn became the "Weinhaus zum Weiszen Lewen". After it was renamed “Kässerer's Würthsbehausung bei Weißen Lewen” in 1713, the building was named Kasererbraeu in 1775 and was one of eleven civil breweries in Salzburg.

From 1795 to 1886 the hotel was owned by the Moser family of beer brewers from Gastein. In a foreclosure auction in 1886, the property passed to a certain Weismayr. The Giebisch family took over the accommodation business in 1909, to which the Mozartkino was attached in 1918.

The hotel is a member of PrivateCityHotels.

architecture

The core of the building is from the Middle Ages. The seven-axis, five-storey facade with a concave end is from the end of the 18th century. The window frames show ears .
