At the Echad

Am Echad ( Hebrew עם אחד- "One Nation") was a party in Israel . It was a more socialist- oriented split from the Labor Party and was led by Amir Peretz , the former chairman of the Israeli trade union federation Histadrut . In the 1999 Knesset election , Am Echad won two seats; in 2003 there were three seats. In 2005, Am Echad merged again with the Labor Party, and MP David Tal founded his own parliamentary group, but later joined Kadima .
