Amapi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Amapi is a 3D modeling software for Mac OS X and Windows that was initially primarily used in game development. Today it is also used for sophisticated 3D presentations of objects of all kinds.

The program is offered in the version Amapi Pro 7.5 . An Amapi 8 Pro version was announced for the first quarter of 2007, but has not yet been released.

development

In the course of development, the Amapi developers concentrated more and more on comprehensive modeling options and let the (initially existing) rendering capabilities of the program take a back seat . Amapi is now a modeling software and the Carrara 4 Pro , sold by the same company, takes on the rendering and animation of the 3D objects created in Amapi.

Amapi was developed by the French software company Eovia . In mid-2006, the American software company E frontier acquired the rights to the program and is now responsible for developing and selling the 3D program.

properties

The program supports NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines), which enables complex 3D object development. For example, the user can also convert polygonal objects directly into NURBS objects and process them further. The built-in function for generating and outputting Watertight STL files enables the user to quickly use the rapid prototyping process.

File formats

Amapi supports the following file formats (in version Pro 7.5):

3DS DXF DWG OBJ EPS IGES SAT STEP STL
