Amateur Radio Emergency Service

The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a group of radio amateurs based in the United States and Canada .

The volunteer members support the public structures with emergency radio if necessary . The service is organized and supported by the American Radio Relay League and Radio Amateurs of Canada.
