Amato Opera

The Amato Opera was an opera house in the East Village, New York City . It was founded and directed in 1948 by Anthony and Sally Amato . It was considered the smallest opera in the world. The last performance took place on May 31, 2009 with Le nozze di Figaro . The opera is continued today as Bleecker Street Opera and Amore Opera by former employees.
