Amber Road, Inc. ( NYSE : AMBR ) was an independent, US-listed software company specializing in Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions. Amber Road is headquartered in East Rutherford , New Jersey (USA) and the European headquarters in Munich (Germany). The company has additional offices in McLean, Cary (USA), Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen (China) and Bangalore (India). Amber Road solutions are used by companies in 80 countries around the world. In May 2019, the software provider E2open announced the complete takeover of Amber Road.

history

The company was founded in 1990 by John and James Preuninger under the name Management Dynamics, Inc. in the USA. In 2011 the name was changed to Amber Road.

Due to strong international growth, the EMEA headquarters in Munich was opened in 2013 . In 2014, the company went public on the NYSE

The following other companies have been acquired since the company was founded: Bridgepoint, NextLinx (both 2005), EasyCargo (2013) and ecVision (2015).

Products

Amber Road develops and programs so-called Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions that are offered as Software as a Service (SaaS). These are combined with a comprehensive database of international trade rules and regulations under the Global Knowledge® brand. The task of Global Trade Management Software is to ensure transparency and automation in foreign trade and supply chain management . In general, this is integrated into the enterprise resource planning systems.
