The 'Ambrosia' is a variety of the cultivated apple . It was bred in the Canadian province of British Columbia in the 1990s .

description

The 'Ambrosia' has a medium to large fruit that weighs around 215 grams on average. It has a red skin with green to yellow spots. The flesh is yellowish-white, sweet and not very acidic.

Presumably 'Ambrosia' is a cross between ' Starking Delicious ' and ' Golden Delicious '.

Harvest and use

In its country of origin, Canada, 'Ambrosia' is harvested from late September to early October. At the beginning of 2015, 'Ambrosia' was the ninth best-selling apple variety in the USA. It was one of the few apple varieties whose cultivation area has increased sharply in recent years.
