American Journal of Philology

The American Journal of Philology (abbreviation: AJPh) is a quarterly journal of classical philology . It was founded in 1880 by Basil Lanneau Gildersleeve . In addition to philological articles, essays on Greek and Roman history, philosophy, and social and religious history are also published. The newly published specialist literature is also reviewed. The journal is published by the Johns Hopkins University Press .
