American Muslim Council

The American Muslim Council ( AMC , American Muslim Council ) is an Islamic charity in 1990 in Washington, DC was founded and whose aim is one, the understanding of the Muslims in the United States to promote. The council is headquartered in Chicago , Illinois today . The organization was founded with the support of the Muslim Brotherhood . The founder is the Eritrean American Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi . Currently the organization bears the name American Muslim Council and differs from the Islamic Council founded by al-Amoudi, whereby it is characterized by much more moderate behavior.

From its inception, he campaigned for the public image of American Muslims and played a more prominent role in government ceremonies and other symbolic activities. In 1991, before the US House of Representatives meeting , Siraj Wahhaj of the AMC said a prayer. He was the first Muslim in the United States to do this.

The council organizes a number of activities in the United States.
