American Pneumatic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

American Pneumatic is the name of an automobile planned around 1900 to be operated with compressed air .

The compressed air vehicle was planned by the American Vehicle Company from West Virginia , which made a corresponding announcement in February 1900. Behind the company were Messrs. AJ Acken, EF Slocum, RH Hungerford, AH Cooke and JD Campbell. Although the company's capital base of one million US dollars was more than sufficient, the project was not carried out. Not even a prototype seems to have been built.

Other US manufacturers such as MacKenzie & McArthur in New Haven ( Connecticut ), the Autocrat Manufacturing Company in Hartford (Connecticut) and the Pneumatic Carriage Company also dealt with the compressed air vehicle. Pneumatic vehicles from the Automatic Air , Carrol , Meyers and Muir brands were also not marketed .
