Amidei (noble family)

The Amidei were a noble Italian family from Florence . The family originally came from Rome , but they moved there when the city of Florence was founded.

The family gained notoriety through a dispute with the Buondelmonti family . This dispute is said to have led to the formation of the Ghibellines and Guelphs in Florence in 1215.
