The Amindives are one of the archipelagos in the Lakkadive Sea , which belong to the Indian Union Territory of Lakshadweep . They include the four inhabited islands of Kadmat (3.12 km²), Amini (2.59 km²), Kiltan (1.63 km²) and Chetlat (1.14 km²) as well as the uninhabited island of Bitra (0.11 km²), known as a bird's paradise km²) and a few other uninhabited islands. The population is around 18,900 (as of 2001 census).
Together with the Laccadives and the island of Minicoy , the Amindives are administered as the Lakshadweep Union Territory by the Indian central government in New Delhi .
