The Laccadives ("Hundred Thousand Islands ") are an Indian group of islands in the Laccadive Sea , a marginal sea of the Indian Ocean . Together with the Amindiven in the north and the island of Minicoy (Maliku) in the south, they form the Indian Union Territory of Lakshadweep .
The Laccadives include the four inhabited islands of Kavaratti (4.22 km²), Andrott (4.84 km²), Agatti (3.84 km²) and Kalpeni (2.79 km²) as well as some smaller, uninhabited islands. The population is around 32,200 (status: 2001 census).
