Young Ray left his home in the far north of Scotland a few years ago and moved to the urban south. Now he and his friend Neil are returning because he has inherited his grandmother's small farm and hopes to escape his own drug addiction. He also seeks renewed contact with Chaimig, who was a fatherly friend to him. The blind old man leads a secluded existence with his granddaughter Amanda, for whom Ray remains the hopeful teenager of old. In the confrontation with his own past, he has to painfully realize how far he has removed himself from his former surroundings and former plans. Adam repeatedly quotes JM Barrie's " Peter Pan " to show Ray and Neil's inability to grow up.
