Amrin Amin (* 1978 ) is a Singaporean politician. He made his election debut in 2015 as a member of the ruling party for popular actions ( PAP ). He has been Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior since October 1st, 2015. Since September 11th, 2015 he is also a member of the parliament of Sembawang GRC.

Life

Amrin Amin was taught at Dunman Secondary School and Tampines Junior College before studying law at the National University of Singapore , LLB (Honors) and Columbia University in New York, LLM (Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar).

He was an attorney with Watson, Farley and Williams Asia Practice LLP and a member of the National Council on Problem Gambling and the Board of Directors of Nanyang Polytechnic . He has been a lawyer and partner at Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP since 2015.

Amrin became a prominent grassroots activist in Sembawang shortly after the 2011 general election, and in 2015 Amrin was elected MP for Sembawang GRC, replacing outgoing PAP MP Ellen Lee. He was then appointed Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior. During the cabinet reshuffle in 2015, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Health.
