history

In 1774 Christian Ludwig Graf zu Wied-Runkel granted Joh. Georg Adam Krafft from Ostheim ( Amt Butzbach ) a privilegium personale , i.e. a personal license to run a pharmacy in Runkel. At the same time he received a permit for a "grocery store ", a grocer's shop for groceries . The pharmacy was located in the old town hall (Schloßplatz 1). It was later moved to the house at Burgstrasse 25. After his death, Medical Councilor Dr. Kraft the pharmacy. He had to sell them because as a doctor he could not be a pharmacist at the same time and because as a medical advisor he had to oversee the pharmacy. The buyer was the pharmacist Florenz Ammann (also: Amann), who was appointed pharmacist at the Runkel Medical Office on May 23, 1818 . According to the medical edict of 1818, the pharmacy became the official pharmacy of the Runkel office .

According to the medical edict, a pharmacy had to have a certain amount of equipment. Therefore, she moved to the so-called judicial building. Pharmacist Ammann was a drunkard and often conspicuous when supervised. In 1845 he sold the pharmacy for 32,000 guilders to pharmacist Karl Engel from Weilburg, who became an official pharmacist in the same year. In 1877 his son Max became a pharmacist.

His successor was the pharmacist Dr. Daniel Bruns from Emden. After his death on December 22, 1945 there was a legal dispute over the succession between the son Gerd Bruns and the second wife of the deceased. Gerd Bruns won the lawsuit, but in 1955 leased the pharmacy to Dr. Ernst Ullmann. In 1970 the owner changed to Karl-Ernst Meister from Diez, who also bought the pharmacy. In 1973 the pharmacy had to move out of the previously listed pharmacy building at Burgstrasse 10, as the old building no longer met the official requirements. The new building has the address Langarten 8. In 1998, Torsten Kraemer became a pharmacist.
