content

The Liechtenstein official gazette contains regulations and general regulations as well as official notices, insofar as these are required by law or are of public interest.

shape

The Official Gazette can be published as a separate collection or as part of some other government-designated publication body, with each published sheet being given a sequential number, the date of issue and a table of contents. As far as the government deems it appropriate, it can limit the announcement to the title and reference or source, but the full wording of the legal provisions must be kept available at the government chancellery for general inspection during office hours.

Electronic gazette

With the Official Gazette Ordinance (ABlV) of September 4, 2012 (LGBl. 284/2012), an electronic gazette was introduced on the basis of Art. 17 Para. 4 and Art. 18 of the Announcement Act.

Content of the electronic gazette

In particular, official notices of public interest or due to special legal provisions are published in the electronic gazette:

  1. Announcements in connection with elections and voting;
  2. Auctions, bankruptcies and edicts;
  3. Appeals to creditors;
  4. Job advertisements;
  5. School information;
  6. Announcements in connection with official surveying;
  7. Announcements by the land and public registry office;
  8. Entries in the trademark and design register;
  9. public tenders (construction, supply and service contracts);
  10. Granting of concessions;
  11. Applications for a declaration of general application of collective bargaining agreements;
  12. Announcements in connection with state-run specialist examinations;
  13. Traffic regulations.

Publication, management and technical operation of the electronic gazette

Publication of announcements in the electronic gazette is the responsibility of the relevant competent authority.

The responsible management and technical operation of the electronic gazette is the responsibility of the Office for Information Technology.

In addition to the announcement in the electronic gazette, certain announcements are published in printed form in the two state newspapers.

Exceptions

Legislative regulations

Legislative provisions (legal provisions such as laws and ordinances) are not published in the Official Gazette, but in the Liechtenstein State Law Gazette (LGBl).

Legislation from the EEA Agreement

Legal provisions that apply in Liechtenstein on the basis of the EEA Agreement are based on the law of March 22, 1995 on the implementation and publication of the EEA legal provisions (LGBl 99/1995) and the ordinance of May 31, 1995 on the EEA Legal collection (LGBl 146/1995) in a separate EEA legal collection. This is published by the Liechtenstein government and is an integral part of the Liechtenstein State Law Gazette.

Swiss legislation

Swiss legal provisions which have been declared applicable in the Principality of Liechtenstein are regularly published by the government in simplified form in the Liechtenstein State Law Gazette. The form, time and frequency of the announcement are determined by the government. The announcement of the title and the indication of the reference or source is sufficient for the announcement. The Liechtenstein government regularly publishes a register of Swiss legal provisions.
