District court Wilmersdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The District Court of Wilmersdorf (later: District Court of Wilmersdorf ) was a short-term institution of ordinary jurisdiction in Berlin-Wilmersdorf with its seat in what was then Kaiserallee .

history

Immediately after the Second World War , at the instigation of the Soviet occupying power, the judicial organization in Berlin was reorganized. The Soviet city command , which in the first few weeks was solely responsible for all of Berlin, set up a district court in each district . The Wilmersdorf District Court was created for the Wilmersdorf district. The district courts were renamed as 'district courts' in the summer of 1945.

The Wilmersdorf court had its seat at what was then Kaiserallee 35. This building had just been rebuilt at the beginning of the 1940s. In its immediate vicinity (Kaiserallee 33/34) there was a country clinic and the Patriotic Women's Association, Wilmersdorf branch of the DRK .

In a letter dated May 26, 1945, the head of the Wilmersdorf district court informed the district office that the court had started operations.

At its 12th meeting on September 27, 1945, the Allied Command adopted the binding court structure for the occupied city. The innovations were discarded, instead twelve local courts were formed again and the traditional division with three instances reintroduced. On October 19, the district court director announced the closure of the Wilmersdorf district court on November 1, 1945. The district court of Charlottenburg took over all documents and pending cases from Wilmersdorf.
