In offices of the state and the municipalities, wall surfaces are designated as official boards (also notice boards ) on which messages from the respective offices are made.

Types of information

On the one hand, the authorities are obliged to publish certain information on their official notice boards; on the other hand, they only publish information of general interest. For example, municipal council resolutions, the list of building concessions, marriage bids, orders and other documents are published on the official boards of cities and municipalities. Among other things, the courts have to announce findings and business distributions on the official notice board.

Office boards in the digital age

Publicly accessible digital office boards

In addition to the classic wall surfaces, information can also be called up on the Internet and is now also available nationally and worldwide. This can be done in HTML or PDF format.

Digital office boards with restricted access to the public

Official boards can also be encrypted (not generally accessible) for various reasons , so that they can only be accessed by residents of the places / communities concerned.
