Ananeotiki Kommounistiki ke Ikologiki Aristera
The Ananeotiki Kommounistiki ke Ikologiki Aristera ( Greek Ανανεωτική Κομμουνιστική Οικολογική Αριστερά , Renewing Communist and Ecological Left '), AKOA for short , was a Greek party . It was founded by members of a eurocommunist- influenced split from the Communist Party of Greece and also increasingly represented green positions.
Since 2004 AKOA, together with the left parties Synaspismos , KEDA, DEA and the electoral association Active Citizens, has formed the Alliance of the Radical Left ( Synaspismos tis Rizospastikis Aristeras , SYRIZA ), which won 3.3% of the votes and six seats in the 2004 Greek parliamentary elections . It merged into SYRIZA and thus dissolved.
In the European Left the AKOA had observer status.
