Anastasia von Fulach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anastasia von Fulach (* before 1514; † after 1529) was an abbess in the Swiss Paradies monastery .

Life

Anastasia von Fulach came from a noble family from Schaffhausen. 1514, 1524 and 1528–1529 she was abbess , 1524–1528 conductress of Paradise. From 1524 onwards, von Fulach vigorously resisted the secularization efforts of Schaffhausen, but soon had to accept forced sales of bailiwick rights. Since the Schaffhausen patronage was challenged by Diessenhofen , the Council of Schaffhausen urged a quick secularization. Von Fulach brought some of the movable property to a safe place and left the monastery with the old believing conventual women during the secularization on July 14, 1529 . She was presumably admitted to the nearby Dominican convent of St. Katharinental .
