The Andar-Andar , also Djulung-Djulung or Julung-Julung , is a sword from Sumatra .

description

The Andar-Andar has a straight, double-edged blade. The blade widens from the handle to the location and has a back edge that runs over about a third of the blade from the location to the handle. The back and the cutting edge converge in the form of a leaf. The place is pointy. The handle is made of wood or horn and can be made fork-shaped in different types ( indon. Sukul Ngango , Hulu Baba Buya or Sukul Nganga ). The thicker and curved shape is called Sukul Jering . The sheaths are in two parts and are made of wood. They are wrapped with rattan cords or metal strips to hold the sides together or completely covered with metal sheets of various kinds up to the vaginal mouth. The mouth of the scabbard is wider than the blade and slightly protruding towards the cutting edge. The Andar-Andar is used by ethnic groups from Sumatra.
