André Stricker

André Stricker (born August 20, 1931 in Mulhouse , † February 2, 2003 in Strasbourg ) was a French organist and composer .

Life

André Stricker studied at the Strasbourg National Conservatory, where he won first prizes for organ, piano and harmony. From 1954 to 1972 he was professor of music at the Protestant University of Strasbourg, from 1972 to 1996 at the Strasbourg Conservatory. 1960 to 1967 he was also organist and cantor of the Church of St. Guillaume in Strasbourg.

Stricker recorded various CDs of baroque organ music and composed for various instruments and line-ups.
