The Andreas Gärtner Foundation is a German non-profit foundation based in the East Westphalian city of Porta Westfalica . The aim is to use donations to support mentally handicapped people. The foundation was founded in 1993 by Andreas Gärtner's father.
history
The foundation was established in 1993 by Hermann Gärtner, the owner of Porta Möbel . This year he received the Federal Cross of Merit for his 16-year commitment to the Spastikerhilfe in Bad Oeynhausen. The foundation is run by Herman Gärtner and his daughter Birgit on his behalf. The foundation's capital is 562,000 euros. The foundation is run on a voluntary basis.
Projects funded so far
The foundation supported facilities for people with intellectual disabilities, subsidies for facilities, therapies, vehicles, technology and the training of companion animals. In 2016 the foundation distributed 700,000 euros.
