Andreas Sodian (born February 26, 1956 in Kirchdorf an der Krems ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and former member of the National Council .

education and profession

Andreas Sodian attended elementary school in Vorchdorf from 1962 to 1966 and then to 1970 the secondary school in Wels . He then graduated from the HTL in Linz and Vöcklabruck from 1970 to 1974 and did military service in 1974. Sodian then learned the profession of chimney sweep and a little later passed the master's examination. In 1988 he entered the high-pressure and industrial cleaning sector and has since then been managing partner of Sodian Industriereinigung GmbH (high pressure water jets - HDW). In 2005 he founded Sodian Schweiz AG, a subsidiary of Sodian Industriereinigung GmbH, and in 2006 the Italian company Idroservice Italia was purchased and integrated into the Sodian Group. In Switzerland, an additional market segment was added with the stripping of pressure pipelines. In 2016, he expanded his business by taking over a German competitor, founded Sodian Germany and has since been increasingly active in the German and French markets, especially in the areas of rubber abrasion at airports, friction coefficient improvement and demarcation. Sodian is still active in the property development sector, initially with projects in Vorchdorf and Laakirchen around the turn of the millennium. In 2011 he founded Wohnwelt Laudach GmbH, with which he has since implemented several residential projects in Vorchdorf in the center of the village. Further companies were later founded for residential projects in Lambach, Thalheim, Wels and Vorchdorf. In 2017, Andreas Sodian and his daughter Mag. Irina Scharinger received a housing construction award from the state of Upper Austria. The Wohnwelt Bergern project in Vorchdorf is being implemented. As the owner of several properties and buildings, Sodian also acts as a landlord.

politics

Sodian was a member of the local council from 1991 and from 1994 he was also a member of the local council in Vorchdorf. From 1994 Sodian was also the district party chairman of the FPÖ in the Gmunden district. Sodian represented the FPÖ from October 29, 1999 to December 19, 2002 in the National Council. In autumn 2002 Sodian left the top politics and the FPÖ, in 2003 he ran for the mayor of the Vorchdorf community and with the list "Alle für Vorchdorf" for the local council. In the mayoral election he achieved 20 percent of the vote, his established citizens' list was in the local council until the end of 2009. In 2004 he retired from community politics, since then he is no longer politically active and has no function in a party.

Sodian is married and has three children.
