Andrei Alexandrowitsch Lissowski

Andrei Alexandrowitsch Lissowski ( Russian Андрей Александрович Лисовский ; born April 4, 1975 in Moscow ) is a Russian zoologist and mammalogist . His main research interests are the pika (Ochotonidae).

Life

Lissowski is the son of Alexander W. Lissowski and Tatjana D. Lissowskaja. From 1991 to 1992 he worked as a laboratory assistant at the Lomonosov University in Moscow . From 1997 to 1999 he was a research fellow at the State Darwin Museum in Moscow. From 1999 to 2001 he was a military doctor and bacteriologist at the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Extraordinary Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters . Since 2001 he has been a research assistant and collection curator at the Zoological Museum of Moscow State University. In 2002 he received his doctorate with the dissertation Систематика пищух (Ochotona, Mammalia) группы alpina-hyperborea (German: Systematics of the Pfeifhasen (Ochotona, Mammalia) Group: alpina-hyperborea) as a candidate for science at the Lomonosov University in Moscow.

Lissowski is primarily concerned with the family of the pigeon rabbits (Ochotonidae), about which he published a revision in 2014 . In this he supports, for example, Ochotona mantchurica (traditionally regarded as a subspecies of Ochotona hyperborea ) as a separate species. In 2015 he described Ochotona mantchurica loukashkini as a new subspecies. Other interests are the rabbits and rodents of the Palearctic region . 2016 he wrote the chapter on the pikas in the sixth volume of the Handbook of the Mammals of the World: Rodents I .

Lissowski has been a member of the Theriological Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1998 and a member of the World Lagomorph Society since 2007.
