Andrei and Vanya

Andrei and Vanya (born September 4, 1960 ) are twin brothers from the Czech Republic who are known as wolf children . They are also known by the names John and Paul . They are also called the Koluchová twins or, more often, the Koluchová twins , after the child psychologist Jarmila Koluchová from the Palacký University in Olomouc , who described their development. The twins are considered a developmental case study.

The twins lost their mother in childbirth. A maternal aunt took care of the children and they developed normally. When her father remarried, he took the twins back into his home. However, he was mostly absent from work because of his work. The stepmother locked the two boys in the basement and only dealt with them when she hit them. When the twins were discovered in the cellar at the age of 7 after five and a half years of martyrdom, they were smaller than usual for the age, could not speak and did not understand the meaning of images. The boys' IQ was estimated at around 40.

The twins were then taken from their parents and later adopted. In a loving environment, they managed to catch up on their intellectual and emotional lag. They first attended the school for the learning disabled and later a normal school, then both went to a technical college. One of the twins became a computer technician and the other a technical teacher. In their mid-40s they were both married, each had three children and a large circle of friends, and were described as having normal development and intelligence that was slightly above average.
