Alyaksandr Syrej ( Belarusian Аляксандр Сырей , Russian Александр Сырей / Alexander Syrei * 26. August 1988 in Grodno , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player who since 2010 in HK Khimvolokno Mogilev in Belarus Extraliga is under contract.

Career

Aljaksandr Syrej began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth division of HK Homel , for whose second team he was active from 2003 to 2006 in both Division B of the East European Hockey League and the second Belarusian ice hockey league. At the end of the 2005-06 season, the defender made his professional ice hockey debut for Homel when he was on the ice in a game for his club in the Belarusian Extra League . After he had started the 2006/07 season at Homel's league rivals HK Brest , he returned to HK Homel, for which he was used in parallel in the second division and the extra league in the following one and a half seasons.

Syrej spent the 2008/09 season in his hometown with HK Njoman Hrodna . He then moved to the newly founded HK Schachzjor Salihorsk . Since the 2010/11 season he has been playing for HK Chimwolokno Mahiljou in the extra league .

International

For Belarus , Syrej took part in the U18 Junior B World Championship in 2005 and the U18 Junior World Championships in 2004 and 2006 . He was also part of Belarus' squad at the 2007 U20 World Junior Championship .
