Andrej Lettrich

Andrej Lettrich (born February 3, 1922 in Dubové , † October 7, 1993 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak director and screenwriter.

Lettruch studied at the Bratislava Conservatory from 1946 to 1950. He was active in film since 1948, and in 1951 he made his debut as an actor in Palo Bielik's film Lazy sa pohli . He made his debut as a director in 1954 with the film Drevená dedina . Numerous cinema and television films followed, which he directed or wrote the screenplay. In 1974 he was honored as an Honored Artist for his life's work, and two years later he received the Klement Gottwald Prize. From 1978 to 1987 he was on the Presidium of the Slovak Film Commission ZSDU.
