Andrew Onwubolu (* 20th century ), better known as Rapman, is a British rapper , record producer , screenwriter and film actor and director .

Life

Andrew Onwubolu grew up in Deptford , South London and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Camberwell from the age of eleven . His breakthrough came in 2018 with the YouTube series Shiro's Story , which went viral with a total of over 21 million views. After this success Onwubolu was signed by US star Jay-Z's multimedia label Roc Nation .

The film Blue Story , which was released in theaters in the UK in November 2019, starred Onwubolu's feature-length debut as a director after several short films and shows his personal experiences of his childhood. After the start of the film, there were several arguments about the corresponding ideas. Onwubolu then stated on Instagram that it was very unfortunate that a small group of people could ruin something for everyone. He also recalled the controversy over Joker a few weeks earlier, which was also criticized for inciting violence. Above all, the director made it clear: " Blue Story is about love, not violence."

After Blue Story , Onwubolu began work on the crime film American Son , a remake of the French film A Prophet .
