from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ang Kuy ( Thai อัง กุ๊ย , English: Lews Harp ) belongs to the group of plucked instruments and is played in southern Isan , the northeast of Thailand .

The Ang Kuy consists of thin bamboo wood with a reed cut in the middle. The player brings the reed to his lips and uses his oral cavity as a sound body while he tears the bamboo wood at the other end. The Ang Kuy is used as a solo instrument on all occasions.
