Fishing permits from Thuringia

The water license is officially designated differently in the federal states, z. B. Fishing permit or just permit. Colloquially, the term fishing permit is usually used. In contrast to the fishing license, this is not about a general certificate of competence, but about the privilege under private law to fish a very specific body of water. The permit is issued for a fee by the leaseholder or owner of the fishing rights, whereby there are usually daily, monthly or annual cards. Fishing in most waters is a criminal offense without a valid water permit ( fish poaching ). In many federal states, the number of water permits that those authorized to fish may issue is limited in order to prevent overfishing . For example, in Bavaria, in order to check the number, the approved water permits are even stamped by the Lower Fisheries Authority at the District Office , the issue of unstamped permits is an administrative offense .
