Angelo Aligia's artistic path is based on the rediscovery and revision of traditional materials, tools, customs and traditions.

Aligia initially worked with olive wood and created a series of sculptures that emphasize plastic deformations in nature. He then worked with Calabrian limestone for a longer period of time. Based on and in the tradition of the old Calabrian dry stone construction technique, a number of minimalist works with a monumental effect were created: gigantic spheres, cubes, tables and chairs appear as mysterious relics of bygone times.

The use of different materials is typical for Aligia: types of soil, clay, sticks, bronze and processing of regional fruits such as lemons and figs. He works with certain elements from nature or the culture of a certain place, reduces them and thus creates his own synthesis . He gives them new meanings and connotations . The works therefore express in their refined simplicity the spirit of the places where the artist works and are living, unique and unrepeatable witnesses of the times.
