history

AniSearch was founded in January 2006 by Dominik Koziol. At that time only accessible under the domain aniSearch.de, the database was created against the background that up to now there were similar websites almost exclusively in English-speaking countries and their content was not offered in German. In addition, downloads of illegal content were found on many of these portals, from which aniSearch clearly distanced itself from the start.

On November 18, 2013 there was the first major redesign, in the course of which the domain changed and various other language versions were offered in addition to German. The area for Asian films and television productions was also added with the new version. Previously, the database was limited to information on anime and manga.

Another redesign took place at the beginning of 2016. In addition to individual innovations, aniSearch is now also optimized for mobile devices. A partnership with the Sumikai portal has existed since July 2018 . In July 2018, a cooperation with Gamestop was agreed.
