Anii (also: Gisida , Basila , Bassila , Baseca , Winji-Winji , Ouinji-Ouinji ) is the language of the Anii people of the same name .
Most of them live in Togo and Benin . Anii is one of the Kwa languages .
The total number of speakers is estimated at around 45,900 (SIL 2002) people. There are around 12,300 (SIL 2002) Anii speakers in Togo, and around 33,600 (1992 census) speakers in Benin.
The Anii speakers live on both sides of the Togo-Benin border. In Benin, the Anii speakers live in the southern part of the Aracora Province in the Bassila sub-prefecture. In Togo they live in the Centrale region in the Tchamba prefecture. Some radio programs are broadcast in the Anii language. In Togo, the language is taught in some local schools.
