Animago Award

The animago AWARD is an award in the field of digital content creation that has been presented by the specialist magazine Digital Production since 1997 . It is considered the most important award for 3D animation in the German-speaking area.

The award is presented in a competition. The stipulation is that the submitted works were mainly realized with 3D software. The aim is to show what is possible with the current state of animation technology in a kind of exhibition. Submissions are assessed by a specialist jury made up of international experts (e.g. from Pixar , Digital Domain , ILM ). More than 2,600 entries from over 40 countries are evaluated annually.

The award was presented for the first time in 1997 as the animago 3D AWARD at the FMX in Stuttgart. From 2009 to 2015 the awards were presented as part of the animago AWARD & CONFERENCE in the "Film and Media Production Site Potsdam-Babelsberg". From 2016, the award ceremony and the congress will take place in Munich. The award is currently presented in twelve categories:

  • Best game cinematic
  • Best advertising production
  • Best motion design
  • Best young production
  • Best visualization
  • Best still
  • Special prize of the jury
  • Anniversary award on the occasion of 20 years of the animago AWARD
