Ankerbrua in Oslo

Ankerbrua (German: Ankerbrücke ) is a bridge over the Akerselva in Oslo . It is located in the Grünerløkka district and is an extension of Torggata from the center. On the other side of the river you will meet Søndre gate and Markvei.

The first anchor bridge was built in 1874 as a wooden bridge. In 1926 it was replaced by a stone bridge. In 1937 the bridge received four bronze sculptures by Dyre Vaa , one in each corner. These have fairy tale motifs, which is why the bridge is also popularly known as the fairy tale bridge (Norwegian: Eventyrbrua ). The motives are:

In the plans for the renovation of Grünerløkka in the 1960s, the Ankerbrua was one of the few structures that could be preserved.
