Ann Beattie
Ann Beattie (born September 8, 1947 in Washington, DC ) is an American writer of short stories , short stories and novels . She has received awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Malamud Award from the PEN American Center for her short stories. Beattie has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters since 1992 and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2004 .
