Anna-Maria Ravnopolska-Dean ( Bulgarian Анна-Мария Равнополска-Дийн ; born August 3, 1960 in Sofia ) is a Bulgarian harpist , composer and musicologist.

biography

Ravnopolska-Dean studied with the Italian harpist and professor Liana Pasquali and then with the Spanish harpist Nicanor Zabaleta . She continued her education in the USA with Susann McDonald , at Indiana University , Bloomington, where she earned the Artist Diploma . In 1992 she made her debut at New York's Carnegie Hall .

In 1992 she co-founded the American University in Bulgaria . She teaches the harp and piano, and occasionally gives lessons on musicological subjects.

In 2003 she wrote her first composition "Improvisation" in the style of Bulgarian folk music.
