Anna Basener (* 1983 in Essen ) is a German writer .

Life

Anna Basener studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice at the University of Hildesheim . She financed the tuition fees by writing magazine novels for Bastei Verlag . 2010 appeared with their guide booklet novels and publish the first book on writing booklets , a guide to writing romance novels and, according to Deutschlandfunk, the standard work. Die ZEIT called Basener "the most successful German dime novelist". She published mostly under the pseudonym Catharina Chrysander dime novels in the genres of nobility and homeland - as well as a sex western as "Jack Stade". In 2013, Anna Basener's last penny novel was published with the princely novel No. 2429 Die Musik ist mein Leben .

Anna Basener's literary debut When Omma still cooked pigeon soup for the whores was published by Eichborn Verlag in 2017 and has been running as a musical comedy at Schauspiel Dortmund since February 2019. Adolf Winkelmann has secured the film rights to the chain-smoking icon from the Ruhr area and her whores and is currently working on the filming.

Anna Basener's second book Schund und Sühne was published in 2019, takes place in the glamorous world of the nobility and confronts sparkling kitsch with self-deprecating pop literature. While she is on a book tour with it, her Audible radio play Die juten Sitten shot to number 1 on the bestseller list overnight.

Prices

Her short story Heart of Milk was among the best of the 2015 MDR literary competition and appeared in the anthology Snow in August . In April 2018 Anna Basener was awarded the Putlitzer Prize for her novel When Omma still cooked pigeon soup for the whores . She had previously received the Most Unusual Book Title of the Year award for the same novel at the Leipzig Book Fair .
