The Annals of Physics is a US peer-reviewed physics journal published first by Academic Press and then by Elsevier. The addition New York in the commonly used abbreviation Ann. Phys. (NY) comes from the original place of publication by Academic Press and serves to distinguish it from the annals of physics [Ann. Phys. (Leipzig)] and the Annales de Physique [Ann. Phys. (Paris)].

The Annals have been published since 1957, then in three monthly editions. The original editors and founders were Philip M. Morse , Bernard T. Feld , Herman Feshbach, and Richard Wilson of MIT . Nobel laureate in physics, Frank Wilczek, is currently the editor. The journal's impact factor is 2.857 (as of 2011).
