Annan Castle one is Outbound castle in Annan on the banks of the river of the same in the Scottish county of Dumfries and Galloway .

Annan Castle was a moth owned by Robert de Brus, Lord of Annandale in 1124 . In the middle of the 12th century the course of the river changed due to a flood, so that the castle hill was partially removed. The castle was then abandoned as the seat of the family, instead Lochmaben Castle became the seat of the Lords of Annandale.
