Anne Bous

Anne Bous (* 1941 in Honnef ; † 1980 ) was a German draftsman and illustrator, best known for her children's book illustrations.

Life

Anne Bous studied at the Werkkunstschule Wuppertal . In the early 1970s she was one of the first artists that Hans-Joachim Gelberg won for the children's books published by Beltz Verlag in Weinheim .

She illustrated the volume of poetry Gorilla, don't get angry! by Josef Guggenmos with 30 pencil drawings. The black and white illustrations were originally a cost consideration but quickly became Anne Bou's personal style. Until her death in 1980 she made pencil and pen drawings for many books by Beltz & Gelberg a . a. also books by Yuri Korinetz . Her illustrations take a special position on the nonsense story The story of the four little children, who went round the world by Edward Lear .
