Anneliese Rudolph

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anneliese Rudolph is an old, native variety of the peach ( Prunus persica ). It was first bred in Dresden around 1911. The specialty of this peach is its insensitivity to rough locations. It therefore also bears good fruit outside of vineyards , which are less sweet than commercial fruit, but very aromatic. This peach variety is white-fleshed and vigorous, so it needs regular pruning.

It has been superseded by "more modern" varieties and no longer plays a role in cultivation today. However, their resilience and cold tolerance show their high level of adaptation to Central European conditions.
